Foxwell NT510

By: on 7 July 2017
There are several issues with this product. It does not do what the manufacturer claims. I have been testing the NT510 with the Fiat/Alfa software on my 2007 Alfa Spider. When I select Alfa then Spider it only goes up to 2003 (That's 14 years ago.) which is an entirely different car with a different engine. So I then choose Brera which is an identical car to mine excepting mine is a soft top. I then choose Auto Scan and it gets to 78% and locks up, requiring holding the red stop button down to escape. I have let it go an hour and it doesn't get past 78%. Unfortunately I can't get past this menu to get to the settings I want to change. The current software covers spider up to 2003 and Giulietta up to 2014. The supplier is not sure if there will be update on Alfa software soon to cover those models. I had to start engine and then turn ignition right off and back on & off several times to complete the read. It never did retrieve VIN as promoted on instructions, but I did get through to the functions menu. Unfortunately there was no "Adaptive menu"option for the Alfa. Adaptive settings are described in the instructions but don't show for Alfa. So the settings I wanted to change were not available. I also tested my 2015 Giulietta and the tool only went up to 2014. It got lockups also. It's possible the problems I'm having are with the software and not the tool itself. The Alfa software certainly needs updating. It failed to be able to change the settings, which was my sole reason for purchase.
