DPF Regeneration Scan Tools

Find suitable scan tools to perform DPF Regeneration on your car and learn why various services are needed prior to do that.

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regnerations is used to regularly clear PM (Particulate Matter) from the trap in combusion oxidation mode (such as high temperature heating combustion, fuel additive or catalyst reduce PM fire point combustion) to stablilize trap performance.

Some scan tools are able to perform the DPF regeneration and clear the DPF light on the dash. However, in most cases to be able to clear the warning light, DPF regeneration is not possible using the tool until various servicing is done. This include:

  1. The bleeding backpressure sensor is replaced
  2. The PM trap is removed or replaced
  3. The fuel additive injector is removed or replaced
  4. The catalytic oxygeniser is removed or replaced
  5. The DPF regeneration MIL is on

This will depend on the car make, year and model. Owner manual or online forums may provide more information on what kind of service needs to be done to be able to perform the function.
